I've tried the new event multiple times, was the first to beat it, and have beaten it twice, and I think I've got a general strategy down.
Here's two videos of the boss fight, one is a near win the other is my second win (sort of due to a bug). It's pretty worth doing, especially for the loot. Failing gives you a cooldown for 2 minutes 30 seconds between attempts, winning gives you a sizable loot every 24 hours.
If you decide to take up the challenge, do whats most natural to you, use your favorite type of gun it. Except the umpty, I tried it with an umpty and it did incredibly low damage very slowly, DO NOT USE AN UMPTY.
So, I know that a lot of people enjoy this map. The low gravity is a neat mechanic, its fun to play on, but for TTT, and especially mini-games, it is -severely- imbalanced. On the map, there spawns two power-ups: A shield that restores all lost HP and boosts you to 200HP that respawns every 3 or so minutes (So, its re-usable), and a "Cloaking" power-up that looks quite close to a Cloak device.
So, basically, if those power-ups were removed I'd be OK with it, but it is NOT fair that someone can get 200 HP as many times as they want so long as they camp a spot. This imbalances normal AND mini-games.
I understand that I complained and got gravity crystals nerfed on the map (So that you couldn't fly up insanely high), and I -DO- like the map, but the power-ups are stupid. People KOS for the "Cloaking" or RDM if someone gets the shield.
Worms randomly appear client-side, and you can pick them up. If you don't have the quest, then you'll get XP for getting a worm. This would be fun!
For more advanced stuff, you could be able to dig in random red geographical patches for a chance to spawn a worm. (Digging with your spoon). These spots would move around like a king-in-the-hill thing.
Additions
•There is a strange new Character on the Lobby. They seem to want more experienced players to help them with something. If you are Level 25+, be sure to speak to them!
•The reward system for this uses an experiemental new loot system where I have a 'rare' loot table, and a 'common' loot table. It first tries to drop something from the rare table, if nothing drops it will choose a random item from the common table (all same rarity). This system means that odds like 1/64 ACTUALLY mean 1 in 64. (The current system for opening crates/event rewards just keeps re-rolling infintely until an item 'drops'. Giving rarer items multiple chances to drop, thus making them actually less rare (this is intentional))
•Added a new Equip slot to the Loadout, along with new items to equip there. (top secret)
•Added a Donator Badge that is automatically given to those that have donated 50 dollars or more. This badge automatically levels up as you donate (showing +1, +2, etc), and gets progressively harder to level. This is a purely cosmetic collectors item.
•The seal of the Djinn now shows up in the Coinshop to equip.
Changes
•The +10 Bloodfury's base weapon firerate has been increased.
•The bloodfury's +10 unique suffix has been removed to be re-used later on for another weapon.
(The reasoning is that the bloodfury is already plenty powerful with it's unique trait. This suffix would be better suited to a new weapon in the future. However that doesn't mean I wont think of/add a new suffix to it that would work better with it's trait. This new suffix would be auto-applied to all existing bloodfury)
•Enhanced and Accessory Crates have been removed from the Coinshop.
•The Sealed Djinn's Discarded loot wish has been changed:
-It will now give you random assorted loot, with ONE random tradeable expired seasonal crate, and a more slim-chance for a unique item only obtainable from this wish(1 in 10).
•The last prayer's final form now has a 1 in 2 chance to Ricochet
•The candy cane deagle has been changed:
-It now has a chance to 'over freeze' when the suffix activates, freezing the gun which makes you unable to shoot for x amount of seconds.
-The ice now lasts 8-13 seconds.
-100% of the damage is negated in ice now.
-Friends can safely shoot the frozen person to unfreeze them quicker
•As your Level increases, the amount of Gift Packages will scale to your level, and come in less than 5 levels.(at 45+ you will get the reward once a level)
•The balls in Bouncing Mayhem rounds now disappear after 8 total bounces.
Fixes
•Fixed inspect animations
•Fixed Last Prayer Ricochet Damage
•Arrows can now damage other Entities besides players(props, npcs, etc).
I was thinking, wouldn't it be fun if we could challenge Gregg or similar types again? Let's say you pay a coin/ruby entry-fee, and if you win, you get either double or triple what you paid, crates, etc. If you lose, you get nothing. Maybe an achievement for "Beat a solo boss X times in a row"? The more times that you beat him, the stronger he could get, with more HP, or forcing standard weapons only?
New badges! New achievements! A new way to get cool stuff for the potentially-new equipment slot!
