What Happened?: The round started and I killed a guy in the tunnel above where the sea bear trap comes from and identified the body. Vhoxel then came up into the tunnel and killed me, then would not slay himself. It is clear in the death scene that he saw nothing and went off of sound/gun, even though the guy could have easily been shot from outside the tunnel. The video with the evidence contains the deathscenes from my kill and when vhoxel killed me, his response to my report and his response to me keeping it.

Witnesses: No one saw it happen, sent the video to Kazen and others.

With it comes exciting new items, features such as the "Christmas Spirit" bar on the Lobby, Seasonal Daily tasks (including PVE tasks), and a return of the old Favorite Santa Raid Fight! Group up with your fellow players and defeat Santa. But be warned: Santa has not been sitting idle the years since the last group fight. He has been training, waiting for this moment.


Full changelog below:

• Added Christmas Present VII (crazy it's been this many already). This present contains a good assortment of new items, traits, and skins.  These are for rubies only in the shop for ~1 week. Then they will be available for coins.
  
  This present is an attempt to sort of 'go back to our roots', in terms of how a crate's godlike used to feel awesome to get. I put a good deal of effort into that type of item in this present. We'll see how it goes and if everyone enjoys it, and how I can further improve.  
  Along side that, the "Random Godlike" slot for existing godlikes has been revamped to include more variety and they are much more likely to come decked out with seasonal stuff.
• Added the new Seasonal Pass. This pass has a strong focus on community made suggestions for weapons and playermodels.
• Added Christmas Stocking III's.
• Adjusted the pass UI.
• Added Seasonal Tasks to the Task UI. These can be pve or pvp and have their own re-roll counter.
  
• Completely remade my seasonal 'gift finder' system, unified it and fixed a number of bugs with it.
• Added a "Christmas Spirit" bar to the Lobby.
  
  This is a bar that is filled by using Jolly Energy near it. When the bar fills, it sends out gifts - community wide. To recent players and those who contributed. The amount of rewards and drop rates of rarer rewards are adjusted based on how much a person has contributed to that specific bar. You obtain Jolly Energy by completing seasonal tasks (as shown above).
  The amount of energy needed to fill this bar is currently skewed to be harder than intended, so I can dial it back as I get more data during the event.
• Adjust the amount of bits networked for a number of things - if you find any bugs with "Using" items not working, please let me know!

Why do you want to join?: I loved NTG, and playing on this server reminds me a lot of those times, but somehow almost better? I love the PvE options, I love the crafting system, and I love the gun balance. OH, and the character customization; I feel so "me" when I look at my player-model cuz of how in-depth the customization is. Everyone in this community has been so nice to me, and a bunch of players even helped get me started inventory-wise! My favorite PvE event is Trib, cuz it's so much fun and feels very rewarding to grind. I basically haven't played anything but on this server since I started playing it.

Hello, guys! My name is Cake Holder! I used to play on NTG when it was alive, and after several years of hiatus, I think I'll be playing on this server, now. If you remember me from NTG, say hi! Otherwise, I'm still pleased to meet you!

So after discussing earlier, I have decided to experiment a bit like I like to do. I thought about monthly items, and how that was a cool aspect but not sustainable due to the dev time needed, then I had an idea - Monthly base weapons.

These are variants of existing weapons or completely new base weapons, only obtainable during select months (fairly rare). These will repeat each year automatically, and there's support for multiple bases a month rather than just always 1, there can be multiple for variety.

On top of this, I will be adding a new item (maybe a craftable) that acts like Rune of alter/greater alter, but has these monthly bases in the pool at a set rate (any month available within these, older ones being less likely than current ones), when I get time. This doesn't mean those bases are guaranteed with this rune, they are a set chance, the normal pool is still there.

I will also highlight a few things I think will be frequently asked below:

Do these replace the Bimonthly pass? Are these related to old monthly items at all?
No, and No. These are mini monthly frg updates. New weapon types to look forward to using. Not new items entirely, just new weapon BASES. Like MP7, Silenced M16, new laser based gun, etc. Things like that, that you can get on already existing FRG Tiers/uniques, such as Heroics.

How does this work?

Each monthly base defined has a list of weapon classes that it can "replace" (I use this term loosely here), that means, if I make a new AR, and define it to 'replace galils', any weapon that can roll with a galil will now have a chance to get this monthly base weapon on it, during the month. Note, this doesn't mean ALL galils will be this, it just means it looks for items that support galils as applicable items.

This is so certain tiers that have a limited pool of weapons can't go too far outside that realm, but is still possible if a similar monthly base is defined to look for one of its classes. (Such as those in the molten pool)

So once an item is dropped, it'll look through and see if that item can support a current monthly base, if so, it'll try to proc the monthly base on it. If it procs, congrats! You now have an item with a monthly base! These come with fancy new icon visuals to indicate what they are, as well as a description in the item tooltip.


How and where can I obtain these?
You don't need to do anything extra to obtain these. Any item obtained from pretty much anywhere has a chance to turn into one of these bases, given the item is supported by the current monthly base.

Can I craft weapons into these bases?
Yes if the item itself is applicable and supported by the defined monthly base.

Will you be using existing monthly items as bases?
Not planning on it. If I re-use anything, it'll likely be already existing base weapons from some seasonal items or maybe some forgotten prim uniques, but tweaked/changed to make them more in line with being a base on many things. (Such as silenced M16 - currently has been around for the entirety of FRG but only used recently in Mercurials)

Will I be able to view the available bases in !monthly?
Eventually. Currently I don't have them listed as I want to make a way to ensure they aren't leaked before they drop.

There's setting per crafting tier to enable auto dismantling of monthly bases. Currently they are disabled by default!
